Good morning. Hope you have a bit more time to settle into your chair and sip your coffee while you read this one. It’s a bit lengthy, as was the journey itself. Enjoy. Journal Entries of Voyage Along Meramec River 3:19 p.m. – Finally put in river at Cedar Ford. Spent past three hours preparing: one canoe, three inner tubes, three paddles, small cooler shaped liked fishing bobber containing three Gatorades and four beers, one teenage son, one nine-year-old son with turtle he caught, one five-year-old daughter, one wife seeking rest and relaxation, and one man trying to get all things organized in timely manner and floating down river by reasonable hour. 3:19 not reasonable hour. 3:19 late hour. Trying to slow down, though. Trying to not rush everyone. Trying to lean into relaxation, rest, groovy mindset that does not rush everything around me. Taking deep breath. We put in. We now float Meramec River. Praise lord, we now float down river together.
