THE THREAD | Looking forward
Good morning!
Today I dropped off all three of my kids at school. We are ALL excited in our own ways to begin a new school year. Once the children were all redistributed, I hopped on a bike, rode through Roanoke Park, and arrived at Charlotte Street Foundation. My studio residency officially began in June, but I had to delay getting started because I’ve been in full-blown summer party dad mode for three months. I was having perhaps too good of a time. But now that the kids are in school, I’m making a shift from summer party dad to this:
I’m excited to settle in to this new season. I’ve got big projects I need to tackle and small essays I want to write. I’ve got time and space. And I’ve got my desk:
If you pre-ordered a book, I appreciate your patience. I originally announced a September 3rd release date, but I learned from the printer this week that the production has been slightly delayed. Pre-orders will still arrive early September, which is actually good news given how much else has been disrupted by supply chain issues. So please look forward to more news in the coming weeks about the book release, starting with this SAVE THE DATE announcement:
