Thresholds . . . with a link that works!
OOPS!! . . . here’s a link to the online store that actually works:
Hi friends, family, neighbors, and all y’all et ceteras.
I’m looking forward to sharing a few new essays in the coming weeks about the connections between Advent, Attention, and Art. I hope you’ll write back and share your thoughts as we move through the remaining weeks of 2023.
I’m sending out this random Monday email to share exciting news: The remaining prints of my collaboration with my friend Elaine Buss are available for purchase online, now through the end of the year. This is a limited edition series of monotype screen-prints that Elaine and I created together in the Spring. There are only 21 prints left in my online store, and I hope you find one that you like enough to own.
About the THRESHOLDS series:
Echoing back and forth, expanding outward, exploring layers of introspective moments – these are both the visual elements and processes that fueled this collaboration between poet/essayist Andrew Johnson and artist Elaine Buss. Their mutual appreciation for each other’s work and common interests in the sacred and human interpretation of space/time led to this series of 24 limited-edition silkscreens. Although silkscreen printing is an art typically used for consistent duplication, Elaine and Andrew used the screen-printing tools to experiment with layers and variations. No two prints are alike. Andrew and Elaine worked in the studio alongside each other in a call-and-response process, moving between choices of shape, color, language, and mark. The layers of language and image explore conceptual reverberations and also the slippage between physicality and metaphysics, and in the final prints one will find the echoes of the these subjects as well as echoes of their process of experimentation and creation itself.
See you Wednesday,
Andrew
