updates and slowdowns
Hello!
It’s been a bit of a slowdown around here, am I right? I’ve not sent more than a couple Thread emails since the spring. It’s been a tough year for a number of reasons, and my writing practice has not been consistent as a result. But hey, here we are! Still here. Stringing together some words into sentences and sending them off to you. How are you, anyway? Hanging in there? Hope so.
I’ll share some more news and writing in the coming weeks, but here are a few things going on in my world:
LAST WEEK FOR THE KC FLATFILE!
I have some visual work on display as part of the biannual Flatfile exhibition at Artspace, and this Saturday is the last day to view all of the great work. Flatfile is also a great chance for folks to purchase work from some of the best local artists at very reasonable prices. If you’re interested in growing your art collection, this is a great way to do it that supports local artists directly. Go check it out!
IN CONVERSATION WITH JER COLLINS
My good friend Jeremy Collins released his latest book this month, and he is kicking off his book tour in Kansas City next Thursday, October 2nd at Unity Temple on the Plaza. I’ll join Jeremy on stage for part of the event to have a conversation with him about art, life, and writing this new book. The evening will also feature an interactive, mobile art installation that invites you to engage more deeply with the work. Hope you can join us next Thursday.
